One of the methods to fight cannibalism is beak-trimming and although many attempts have been made to develop more welfare friendly beak-trimming methods there have not been many alternatives so far.
In our long-term field studies we addressed exactly this issues. The outcomes after the implementation of Pollux poultry lighting were calm and relaxed birds which led to significant cannibalism reduction, reduced medication application and less floor and dirty eggs.
