ME International presented for the second time the Gallux multi-spectal poultry lighting at a breeders meeting in north of Germany. This time, however, not only the light, but its success was presented. The poultry lighting was tested in cooperation with a breeder over a year. Therefore, the Gallux LED lighting was installed in a breeder stable measuring 90 x 22 meters with a ceiling height of 3.5m.
Samples were taken from three rounds to compare the discard (not taken animals in the slaughterhouse) in the stables. It was compared with a high-quality, multi-colored LED luminaire for poultry houses of a competitor. The comparative housing is absolutely identical with the exception of the lighting. However, the wastage in the Gallux stall was significantly lower.
The animals in the Gallux barn are much more relaxed than in the comparison stable. The assumption is that by stress reduction under the Gallux lighting the animals hurt each other less often. This leads to a reduction of stains on the meat caused by the injuries and results in a higher purchase rate from the slaughterhouse.
Furthermore, the lighting has proven itself during putting the animals in and out of the barn. When switching to the blue lighting, the environment of the stable is very noticeable to the people, but the animals remain in one place.
ME International presented this knowledge together with one satisfied customer at the breeder meeting. The Gallux LED luminaire for poultry houses not only provided the animal welfare, but also made a profit increase for our client by increasing the number of animals on the slaughterhouse.
