The stainless steel cabinet can be cleaned with mild soap or detergent. Although the pneumatic components are well protected from the hatchery environment, care should be taken to prevent water from entering the control section of the BioJector IV. The front (syringe end) section may be cleaned with a wet sponge or cloth and rinsed under running water. Immersion is not recommended as this will shorten the life of the power cylinder. The rear control section should be wiped clean with a damp sponge or cloth and allowed to dry.
Do not rinse this section under running water as this will lead to malfunctions not covered by your warranty. Reassemble the sections and store in a clean, dry place. It is very important that the Plunger (the blue O-Ring) is sprinkled with oil before each use (after each cleaning and disinfecting). Without oil, significant problems can arise!
Remember: It is important to use the correct dosage of the cleaning detergent and use a detergent that does not damage the plastic parts inside the BioJector IV. If any questions arise, please feel free to contact us anytime.
Preventive Maintenance and Cleaning of Air Filter #
Daily: #
At the bottom of the bowl of the filter regulator is a drain valve which should be opened momentarily each day or as necessary to release any moisture or sediment trapped in the bowl.
Disassembly: #
Disconnect the air supply to the machine. By hand, unscrew and remove the bowl, the filter element retainer, filter element and vane plate, disc assembly and bottom spring. Unscrew the spring cage to remove the diaphragm assembly. If it is worn or bent it must be replaced. Reassemble the unit in the same order, making sure the disc assembly fits into the small hole in the diaphragm assembly. Tighten the spring cage slightly more than hand-tight
Cleaning: #
For best results, clean parts with a mild detergent. After cleaning, blow out parts including body of unit with compressed air. The filter cone should be blown out from the inside, plugging one end with finger. Never use carbon tetrachloride, tri-chlorethylene, thinner, acetone, or similar solvents.
